Well done”, we all like to hear these words. A student likes to hear this from his/her teacher, an employee from their employer, children from their parents, and so on. Yet above all, will we hear this from our Creator, from the Lord our God as the Bible says… “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant;… Enter into the joy of your lord.’” Matthew 25:23 (NKJV) What should we do to have these words said as a summary of our life?

Step 1 - We should know who we are and what we are called for.

We are the perfect creation of God, fearfully and wonderfully made for God’s glory (Psalms 139:14).

We are on this earth for a purpose. Our purpose doesn’t come from our circumstances or from the people we are surrounded with, our purpose comes from our Creator, God has made us and bestowed us with talents to exhibit His goodness and glory in this world.

The Lord encourages us to make our calling and election sure to lead a life without stumbling.

“Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble” 2 Peter 1:10 (NKJV)

The devil often discourages many believers by filling them with the idea that their life is useless and there is no purpose in their life. Yet we should know and believe that God has a plan for us, a plan to bless us and make us a blessing for others

Step 2 - We should walk worthy of our calling.

Paul encourages us in this manner… “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,” Ephesians 4:1-2 (NKJV)

We should be focused in our spiritual life and abide in all the Christian attributes. The devil shamelessly pursues our fall by sending diverse temptations daily in our life. We need to overcome all these temptations through God’s power. We should ensure that we have a strong prayer life and an earnest desire to study God’s Word.

“HARDSHIPS in life often weakens us, yet in such CIRCUMSTANCES, we should try to find CONFIDENCE in GOD and TRUST in HIS STRENGTH to deliver us.”

Step 3 - We should always be mindful about God’s expectations from us.

God watches all our ways and considers all we do. “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him…” 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NKJV).

God wants to see us faithful in all we do. Often discouragement fills our soul when we see deceit, hatred and all sorts of evil, yet in all these we should know that God is Faithful, True and full of love. We should encourage ourselves in the Lord as David did when the Amalekites invaded Ziklag and took captive the families of David’s people and even when all of David’s faithful people spoke against him, this is what David did….

“Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” 1 Samuel 30:6 (NKJV).

We should always ensure that the “Joy of the Lord will be our strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

Step 4 – We should always hold on to our integrity

Job in the Bible was a man of integrity; he held on to his testimony even when he went through tough times and was confident of his faithfulness to God and thus he said in this manner…

“But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10 (NKJV)

“….Till I die I will not put away my integrity from me. My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go;…” Job 27:5-6 (NKJV)

Hardships in life often weakens us, yet in such circumstances we should try to find confidence in God and trust in His strength to deliver us.

Step 5 - We should lead a victorious life.

Amidst the many difficult circumstance of our life we should always remember.. “Greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world” 1 John 4:4 (NKJV)

Paul had innumerable sorrows and struggles in life, yet he endured all of them and became an overcomer in life through God’s strength
