Journey of Faith – Rev. David Manoraj

Growing up in a devout Christian family, Pastor David Manoraj never felt a calling to the ministry. However, at the age of 23, he had a life-changing encounter with the Lord, which led him to dedicate his life to His service. He immediately felt a strong calling to serve full-time in ministry. Leaving his law studies behind, Pastor David Manoraj enrolled in Southern Asia Bible College (SABC) in Bangalore to pursue this newfound calling.

After successfully completing his Bachelor of Divinity degree and being honored with the “Student of the Year” Award, Pastor David Manoraj was offered a teaching position at SABC and was asked to spend a year at NLAG New Life Assembly of God in Chennai for practical exposure to pastoral ministry.

As the church grew rapidly, the Senior Pastor requested Pastor David Manoraj to continue serving the church. His pastoral journey continued at New Life A.G Church in Chennai, where he served as Lead Pastor of the English congregation and as an Associate Pastor for multiple Tamil services. Pastor David Manoraj and his wife, Lydia, served in various capacities within the church for seven years before they felt called to minister abroad.

They were blessed with an opportunity to serve at Kensington Temple in the U.K for four years, where Rev. David Manoraj pastored two English-speaking churches in Greater London. Their time overseas broadened their vision for global outreach and ministry.

Returning to India, they briefly served with Agni Ministries before Pastor David Manoraj pursued his M.Th in Theology at South Asia Institute of Advanced Christian Studies (SAIACS) in Bangalore. Upon completing his studies, Rev. David Manoraj joined Full Gospel Church in India as an Associate Pastor, where he was involved in pastoral care, worship leading, teaching, and especially training rural pastors.

Currently, Rev. David Manoraj serves as the Lead Pastor for English-speaking expatriates at Bethel A.G in Doha, Qatar since 2017 and they are grateful for God’s faithfulness in their lives.

As Lydia and Rev. David Manoraj continue to serve the church, their son pursues his passion for astronomy in Japan. Their journey has been one of faith, growth, and unwavering dedication to serving the Lord wherever He leads them.
